Finding Your MedicineTaught by Alida Birch & Marta Boyett Time for regeneration! I have received many requests to open our training to include those interested in shamanism as a daily path and for those ready to expand to the outer reaches of shamanic knowledge. Therefore, I will now be offering three different tracks of shamanic training. The healer training is continuing and is now offered as Track II. I also welcome as a co-teacher Marta Boyett who brings much experience and happy wildness
Track I: Life-skills is for those people who wish to learn practical, transformative shamanic methods that can be incorporated into everyday life. Topics include divination, sweat lodge & drum making with Patton Friar, Celtic shamanism with Reid Hart, working with the spirits of nature, ancestral work, healing toxic thoughts, medicine for the earth and vision quest. Pre-requisite: beginning journey skills. Approximately 10 total days training. Will commence in late February 2008. Training in Shamanic Healing: advanced training for those people who wish to develop their skills as Healers. Topics include soul retrieval, extraction, healing with spiritual light, psychopomp, Celtic healing methods, divination for others, vision quest and our healer mentorship support system. Pre-requisite: you are journeying successfully & have a working relationship with your helping spirit(s). This class is for people who have moved past the majority of their personal issues and are ready to reach out to help others. The focus of this class is not for personal healing, though personal healing does happen in this class as it does throughout life. Begins early 2008. Track III: Frontiers. Join us as we scout the outer edges of shamanic knowledge. The training will encompass the skills and ecstatic practices shamans have used throughout time to keep themselves and their communities healthy and numerous methods of empowerment and initiation into shamanic practice. We are keeping the course content flexible to meet the needs of the participants but here is a rough idea: Preliminary content of Track III: Middle World - synchronicity, maintaining spiritual boundaries and balance, maintaining a vibration for shamanic work, the common ground of mediumship & shamanism Creativity and your spirits - working with your own spirits to develop individualized healing methods suitable for you and your clients. Sustaining creativity in your healing practices. Plant Spirit Medicine Empowering Objects and working with them; your ongoing relationship to them. Knowing when to release them. The Faerie Realm Shamanic Worldviews- what can be learned from the cosmology and practices of different shamanic ethnic systems: Siberian Buryat-Tuvan-Mongol, Tibetan, NW Coast Salish, Kongo, Brazilian Spiritist, Sami . The core shamanic practitioner's relationship to culturally specific shamanism. Timeshifting (we will need it .) Vision Questing Pre-requisite is completion of track I or II or the equivalent. Course closed for Jan 2008. Another will begin when we have enough interest. ************************************ The cost for the trainings is $95 per day. You must make a commitment for the entire Track you have selected. To apply, please request the application form. The groups meet in Eugene, OR, for 10-12 days, usually one day per month on a weekend. Each group begins when we have 10 people signed up. Don't just ask what the world needs. Ask what makes
you come alive and then go and do it, because what the world needs is
people who have come alive.
